Paducah Aero Modelers Demonstration

            Our Paducah Aero Modelers club invites everyone to a morning of model flight demonstrations.  This will be timed in conjunction with the last Saturday of the Paducah Summer Festival.  The show will begin at 9:00 a.m. and last until just after noon of the same day on July 26, 2008.

            Control line, free flight and radio control models will be displayed and flown for the general public.  The show is free to everyone.  The club will also host a youth free flight hand launch glider competition.  Gliders, free to the attending youth, will be available at the field.  The number of young pilots who attend that Saturday morning will establish a fly-off matrix.  The youth glider competition will begin at 10:00 a.m.

            Come join us at the McCracken County Model Air Park located on County Park Road just off Coleman Road.  Coleman road is to be found off either Old Cairo Road (Exit 3 off I-24) or at the 3900 block of Hinkleville Road (Exit 4) between the McDonalds and Bob Evans.  Ask for the “old land-fill”, the “current soccer fields” and/or the “Youth Detention Center”.  A general map is located below this text.

            A “tail gate” type swap meet will be also encouraged at the end of the flying session.  Other club members are asked to bring anything they might want to swap, trade or sell.  These can be displayed at their respective tents or shelters.  There is no charge for any event at the field that day.  Audience members are asked to bring their own chairs. “Smoking Joe’s” will provide a fine selection of BBQ and drinks for a noon meal.
